1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

• Guest use. Prices, language, theme, and alerts can stay on your device. We do not require your name or email to browse prices.
• Account (optional). Email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), and the name you enter.
• Price alerts. The metal, karat, direction, threshold, and currency you set.
• Push notifications (optional). An Expo push token, device locale, and platform so we can send an alert when a price crosses your threshold.
• Profile photo (optional). If you choose a picture from your library, it is used only as your avatar.
• On-device cache. Recent prices and settings in local storage so the app opens quickly offline.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics trackers in this version. The app is not a bank, broker, or payment product and does not ask for card numbers.

2. Why we use it

• Show gold and silver quotes and related tools (calculator, bullion, charts, news).
• Keep you signed in if you create an account.
• Send the price alerts you requested.
• Remember language and appearance.
• Respond if you email us.

3. Third parties

To run the app we use:

• Price and FX sources such as gold-api.com and Yahoo Finance (public market data).
• Supabase, if accounts, news, or server-side alerts are enabled (hosting and auth).
• Expo / Google / Apple push services, if you allow notifications.

Those providers process data only to deliver their service. Market APIs receive network requests from your device; they are not given your email unless you have an account with us and we need our own backend to fulfill a feature.

4. Retention and deletion

On-device data stays until you clear app storage or uninstall. Account, alert, and device token data is kept while the account is open. You can sign out in the app. To delete an account and related server data, email hello@dahab.app from the address on the account. We will delete it within 30 days unless the law requires a longer hold.

5. Children

The app is for general information about metal prices. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Security and transfers

Access to accounts uses HTTPS. Hosting may be outside Egypt (for example the EU or the United States). By using an optional account, you understand that data may be stored in those regions with the safeguards those providers offer.

7. Your choices

• Use the app as a guest and grant no optional permissions.
• Refuse or later disable notifications in system settings.
• Ask us for a copy or deletion of account data at hello@dahab.app.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
